Hello.

I have been researching my grandfather’s experience in the 159th Engineer Combat Battalion during World War II and I plan to add my findings to this website.

Until I get things in order, I would recommend checking out the 159th Engineer Combat Battalion unit history book by William Baltz, available at archive.org.

If you have anything to share, or have requests for any information that you’re looking for, please post a comment.

Hi – My uncle John “Jack” Jordan served in HQ Company 159th. I have been researching on and off for the past several years. I have reviewe dthe Battle Book – lots of great info. I found additional info at https://ibiblio.org/hyperwar/USA/USA-E-Ardennes/USA-E-Ardennes-20.html. There are a few other I need to dig out.

Did the 159th ever receive the French Croix de Guerre as a unit award? My great grandfather served with them through his time in Europe. I am trying to put together all of his medals but some were stolen so I don’t want to leave any rock unturned.
